Uganda closed its borders with the Democratic Republic of Congo on 27 May due to the escalating Ebola hemorrhagic fever outbreak across the border. Uganda has confirmed 7 cases of the Bundibugyo variant of Ebola since the outbreak was declared on 15 May in the Ituri region of northeastern DRC.
