At 10 a.m., the Security Council will hold its semi-annual debate on the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT). President of the International Residual Mechanism Graciela Gatti Santana and Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz are expected to brief. The International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals was established by Security Council resolution 1966 (2010) to handle the remaining functions of two major war crimes tribunals: The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. It operates from two branches in Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania, and The Hague, Netherlands.
