Wellington's Moa Point wastewater plant failed catastrophically in early February, causing millions of litres of raw and partially screened sewage to spill directly into the Pacific Ocean for over 100 days. Temporary fixes are expected by November with full repairs costing NZ$53.5 million by late next year.
