I was looking for a unique gift.  More like a project, really—something my 99-year-old father and I could plunge into with joy and curiosity, just as we had undertaken other activities in recent years. A project that would engage us, but mostly amuse us. However, this one needed to rise above the others, as it would be my gift to him for his 100th birthday, which was in three months.
