A detailed historical account of Medellín's iconic Rafael Uribe Uribe Palace of Culture, which was commissioned in 1920 by Antioquia Governor Pedro Nel Ospina and designed by renowned Belgian architect Agustín Goovaerts. Construction began in 1924 after years of delays caused by regional conflicts and World War I, with Goovaerts' Flemish neogothic style eventually becoming a defining element of Antioqueño architecture.
