Three civilian Cessna aircraft landed at Al-Qoleia Air Base carrying, according to information, employees and technicians from the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, as part of conducting ground tests on the airport runway and assessing its technical and engineering suitability to receive larger civilian aircraft. This step is part of studying the runway's needs for any potential rehabilitation operations, with a civilian aircraft from Beirut airport expected to land at the beginning of next month, carrying officials and employees from concerned authorities, in addition to representatives of the company that won the tender for operating President René Mouawad Airport, in preparation for assuming its responsibilities and beginning executive work. The next phase includes logistically and administratively preparing the airport, establishing or rehabilitating waiting and reception halls, in addition to preparing offices for security and customs administrations, according to standards adopted in civil airports.
