Almost every year before Midsummer, we hope that this time the holiday news will be free of tragedies. However, once again, the long holiday weekend in Latvia has been marred by grim statistics. The holiday weekend has claimed the lives of several people on the roads, in the water, and in a fire, Latvian Television reported on June 24 evening.
