Ferrari unveiled its first fully electric car in its history, named Luce, in a move that comes after years of gradual expansion in hybrid technology use within its models and plans for an electric transformation. Ferrari is known for its V8 and V12 engines, while it began using hybrid propulsion systems in Formula 1 cars in 2014, after adopting kinetic energy recovery systems during braking since 2009. The company launched the SF90 Stradale model in May 2019 with 1000 horsepower and all-wheel-drive system, becoming the first hybrid model it produced on a large scale, after it had presented the limited-production LaFerrari hybrid car in 2013.
