Workers at Jamaica's Teachers' Association represented by the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union have begun industrial action over long-overdue salary payments and failed wage negotiations. The union says management has breached agreements by refusing to provide details on salary increases from 2017 to present and delaying negotiations on 2024–2026 compensation and market realignment, with a threat of further escalation if the issues are not resolved.
