Ecopetrol's Board of Directors approved extending the license of the oil company's president, Ricardo Roa Barragán, for an additional 30 days, after the executive filed a medical leave on May 26, 2026. The decision was made official this Wednesday, May 27, through a statement in which the company explained that the unpaid leave announced in April will be postponed until Roa concludes both his medical leave and the vacation period he is currently enjoying. According to the information disclosed, the executive will remain away from his duties until the end of July, while Juan Carlos Hurtado Parra will continue leading the company as acting president.
