Officials at the factory say the initiative will not only help meet part of the factory's demand for raw materials domestically, but will also create employment opportunities for dozens of people. Ahmad Mukhtar Sharifi, Agriculture Director of the Baghlan State Sugar Company, said: "The Baghlan State Sugar Company has begun cultivating sugar beet on approximately 450 jeribs of land.
