Although only four new ordinary commissions were created in the current legislative period compared to the previous one, the National Congress (CN) went from having 54 advisors under temporary contracts to 258 in just four months, which represents an additional expense of 10.8 million lempiras monthly. Deputies from the Liberal Party and Freedom and Refoundation (Libre) claim to be unaware of the reasons behind that increase in the payroll. Among the advisors are five who earn between 100,000 and 120,000 lempiras, amounts higher than the salary of a deputy member.
