As a member of the generation that precedes the baby boomers, I have been increasingly saddened by our recent generations and their all-consuming relationships with their electronic devices. Then I read Drake Ward’s outstanding May 3 commentary on <a href="https://www.adn.com/opinions/2026/04/29/opinion-how-gen-zs-energy-literacy-crisis-is-costing-alaska/" target="_blank" rel="" title="https://www.adn.com/opinions/2026/04/29/opinion-how-gen-zs-energy-literacy-crisis-is-costing-alaska/">energy literacy</a>, and I smiled and decided that I could be wrong. There may be hope for Gen Z and the future, especially right here in Alaska.
