Bangladeshi filmmaker Rejwan Shahriar Sumit's political thriller 'Master' premiered at the Sydney Film Festival on June 4, becoming the only Bangladeshi film among five South Asian selections at the 73rd edition of the festival. The film had previously won the prestigious Big Screen Award at the Rotterdam International Film Festival in January and examines themes of bureaucratic corruption, political power, and the displacement of marginalized communities in the context of local Bangladeshi governance.
