The president of UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, stated on Tuesday that the scandal surrounding former Culture Minister Demeter András is based on a statement taken out of context, being "ordinary manipulation," and emphasized that he played an important role in saving Radio Chişinău, which risked "ending up with the Russians through intermediaries." The UDMR leader further clarified that he asked Demeter András to resign because the language used by him in the recording would have had negative effects on the political formation.
