Researchers at Government Dental College and Hospital in Srinagar found that developmental enamel defects affect about 12 percent of children, with the highest prevalence (77.7 percent) among 6- to 9-year-olds. The condition makes teeth vulnerable to sensitivity, cavities, and cosmetic issues, prompting calls for expanded dental screening and preventive programs in Kashmir.
