The enhanced border security has been extended until December 31 of this year in Ludza Municipality, Krāslava Municipality, Augšdaugava Municipality, the city of Daugavpils, and Kaunata Parish in Rēzekne Municipality, as a large number of border violators continues to be observed along the Latvian–Belarusian border, the government decided on July 2.
