The National Meridian Trade Union, a representative organization at the level of the Romanian Customs Authority, announces the launch of protest actions, starting on Thursday, May 28, by employees of this institution and of subordinate customs structures, through "strict and rigorous application of all customs control procedures, including the conduct of detailed inspections of documents and goods presented both at the border and in the interior," according to a press release. The customs officers' excessive zeal may lead to increased waiting times at customs.
