In the Spálený les (Burned Forest) in Luby near Klatov, a traditional memorial service took place for 73 people executed during the Heydrich terror. After the assassination of Acting Reich Protector Reinhard Heydrich in May 1942, the Nazis shot 73 Czech patriots there over the course of about one month, often entire families. Dozens of people commemorated their memory directly at the site.
