⢠Decides to award Rs205bn M-13 contract to FWO ⢠Opts for negotiated process to fast-track 117km project ISLAMABAD: The government has decided in principle to award the contract for the Rs205 billion Kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway (M-13) to the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) through a negotiated process, bypassing competitive bidding to ensure the early launch and expedited completion of the 117km project. Sources in the Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A) told Dawn that the decision was taken at a meeting of the P3A Board of Directors, virtually presided over by Adviser to the Prime Minister on Privatisation Muhammad Ali from Turkiye, in view of the urgency attached to the project. According to the sources, the decision to award the contract to the FWO ā the engineering and construction arm of Pakistan Army ā was made on the recommendation of the National Highway Authority (NHA).
