Mexico’s busiest tourism gateway is continuing to feel the effects of softer travel demand. Cancun International Airport handled 2.11 million passengers in June 2026, a 11.5 percent decline compared to the same month last year, according to the latest passenger traffic report from airport operator ASUR. The slowdown has persisted through the first half of the year.
