Astronomy enthusiasts around the world are anticipating the appearance of a rare phenomenon on Sunday known as the blue moon or micromoon, where the full moon will appear smaller in size and less bright than usual due to its presence at the farthest point from Earth within its orbit. The blue moon occurs when a calendar month witnesses the appearance of two full moons, which happens approximately every two to three years, after the first full moon of May appeared on the first of this month. According to experts, the moon will move away this time to approximately 406,000 kilometers from Earth, making it about 6% smaller and 10% less bright compared to a normal full moon.
