Almost 300,000 foreigners acquired Spanish nationality in 2025, the highest figure since 2013. Among them, Colombians are consolidating themselves as one of the most numerous groups, amid a widespread increase in applications driven by prolonged residence in Spain and migration ties with Latin America. A total of 299,732 foreign residents in Spain obtained Spanish nationality during 2025, representing an increase of 18.7% compared to the previous year and the highest level recorded since 2013, when the statistical series began, according to information released by Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE).
