The latest escalation between the two political opponents has ended up in the country’s constitutional court, which is expected to take up the matter on Wednesday. Czech President Petr Pavel on Tuesday said that he had filed a lawsuit against the government, challenging Prime Minister Andrej Babiš’s decision to not include him in the government delegation attending the NATO summit in Ankara in July. The competency suit, which was lodged with Czechia’s Constitutional Court, asks for clarity on who has the authority to decide whether the head of state may attend the NATO summit.
