Nation’s largest measles outbreak is over, South Carolina health officials say COLUMBIA — The nation’s largest measles outbreak in decades came to an end Sunday, after more than a month without sickening anyone, according to the state health department. The six-month outbreak infected 997 people, including at least 21 who required hospitalization, according to health department data. No one died.
