Vidzeme readies itself for Spanish slug summer As the weather warms up, Spanish slugs will begin to appear; experts believe they have successfully survived the cold winter. In March, Cabinet regulations came into effect designating the Spanish slug as an invasive species. This means that local governments now have the opportunity to combat this pest more effectively, Latvian Radio reports on 6th May.
