A first-of-its-kind national cyber literacy audit in Romania shows that three-quarters of digitally exposed workers lack adequate cybersecurity awareness, while managers and entrepreneurs—those with the greatest access to sensitive data—are most likely to ignore safety protocols and use risky shortcuts. The study of 1,000 employees found that although companies report strong security frameworks on paper, nearly half rely on hybrid work setups mixing personal and corporate devices, with only 37% of incidents reported to IT; meanwhile, 49% of organizations admit they respond only after breaches occur rather than preventing them.
