Brazil's health regulator Anvisa suspended the manufacture and sale of 23 batches of Ypê brand cleaning products—including dishwashers, laundry detergents, and disinfectants—after discovering contamination with antibiotic-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria and critical production control failures at the manufacturer's facility in São Paulo. An administrative appeal by Ypê temporarily allowed manufacturing to resume, but Anvisa has maintained its health alert and advised consumers not to use the affected products pending final regulatory judgment.
