Totó La Momposina, the celebrated Colombian folklore singer, has died. Her children announced the news on Tuesday. The artist was best known for preserving and performing traditional Colombian Caribbean music, including cumbias and cumbia variants like bullerengue, and gained international recognition after performing at Gabriel García Márquez's Nobel Prize celebration in Stockholm in 1982.
