A report by Colombian human rights organization Caribe Afirmativo has documented over 4,000 violent events targeting LGBTIQ+ people in 2025, including 270 homicides and femicides—averaging one death every 32 hours. Beyond killings, the report reveals 1,531 cases of domestic violence, 628 sexual assaults, and systematic online harassment, highlighting how violence begins within families and extends across digital spaces, while state institutions remain reactive rather than preventive.
