Since March of this year, when fuel prices rose sharply, more than 700,000 euros in additional funds have been needed each month to cover losses resulting from the rise in fuel prices. Due to the tense situation, there is a growing risk that companies may stop providing bus services, Ivo Ošenieks, head of the Latvian Passenger Transport Association, said in an interview on the Latvian Television programme "Morning Panorama."
