Pakistan has negotiated the passage of Qatari liquefied natural gas tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, an achievement other energy importers have not yet accomplished amid regional tensions. Pakistan, which serves as a mediator between the U.S. and Iran, used its diplomatic relationships with both Qatar and Iran to secure the successful import of two LNG shipments after Qatari production disruptions.
