Last winter was very favourable for pests, and tick season has already begun in Latvia. At Jēkabpils Regional Hospital alone, 12 ticks have already been removed this year. Since the incidence of tick-borne diseases has been rising in recent years, experts are urging people to take extra precautions this year, reminding them that vaccination is the safest form of protection, Vidusdaugava Television reported on 29th April.
