Afghanistan's Islamic Emirate has begun a public awareness campaign in Kunduz province to discourage costly social customs at weddings, funerals, and post-Hajj gatherings, using billboards, stickers, and community meetings with religious leaders. Officials say the effort, part of Decree No. 17, is aimed at reducing financial hardship on families and has already been completed in Balkh province.
