A rather reasonable doubt is taking root in what is called "common sense," an abstraction often invoked to justify conservative ideas. The doubt is whether President José Antonio Kast's government truly knows how to grow the economy, one of its main campaign promises, given that, as has been demonstrated, it lacks a concrete plan to improve security. In the area of security, the situation has teetered between confusion and absurdity, beginning with the stumbling debut of Minister Trinidad Steinert, which triggered an institutional crisis within the PDI (Chilean Investigative Police).
