A barber with no medical credentials operating an unlicensed aesthetic clinic in southern Bogotá performed a fatal laser lipolysis procedure on Yulixa Consuelo Toloza, 52, extracting approximately 10 liters of fat—double the safe limit—and administering an overdose of ketamine without proper monitoring. After the patient's death, the clinic operator Eduardo David Ramos fled to Venezuela, where he and two accomplices were arrested; Colombian prosecutors are seeking their extradition.
