The Jordanian army announced in a statement on Sunday that it had targeted sites belonging to arms and drug traffickers on its northern border. The statement said: "The Jordanian Armed Forces carried out, at dawn on Sunday, the Jordanian deterrence operation, which targeted a number of sites belonging to arms and drug traffickers on the northern border of the Kingdom," adding that the operation targeted factories, workshops, and warehouses from which arms and drug traffickers launch their operations into Jordanian territory. The statement did not mention Syria by name.
