Hawaii County has permanently preserved 364 acres of rugged coastal property in Puna through a $3.7 million acquisition funded by the Public Access, Open Space and Natural Resources Preservation Commission, which allocates 2% of annual property tax revenue to land purchases of cultural, recreational, and ecological value.
