Ecopetrol, Colombia's state-owned oil company, completed its acquisition of a 49% stake in two wind energy projects (JK1 and JK2) in La Guajira for approximately $25.5 million, part of a framework agreement with AES Colombia signed in April 2025. The projects, with a combined capacity of 259 megawatts, are expected to generate about 1,100 gigawatt-hours annually and avoid approximately 4.3 million tons of CO2 emissions once operational.
