ST JAMES, Jamaica — A 24-year-old accused of participating in a robbery where a security guard and others were locked in a container while the culprits made off with goods has been charged. Tian Scott of Montego Bay, St James, has been charged with robbery with aggravation and using a firearm to commit a felony after allegedly returning to the scene of the incident on Sunday. According to reports from the Montego Bay police, at approximately 2:35 pm, a security guard on duty at a construction site in St James was allegedly ambushed by Scott and three other armed men, two of whom were masked. The attackers reportedly robbed him of his wallet containing $45,000 and demanded the keys to his Toyota Corolla motorcar. It is further alleged that Scott then drove the vehicle to another section of the property, where the men loaded a generator and two electric chainsaws into it. The guard was subsequently locked inside a container along with other employees while the men fled the scene in the stolen vehicle, the police said. The victims later forced the container open and alerted the police. While processing the scene, Scott reportedly returned on a motorcycle and was pointed out to the lawmen. He was subsequently apprehended, taken into custody and formally charged with the offences. His court date is being finalised.
